Mom
Incoming call
Every time my mom doesn’t understand a video…
she calls me.
Yesterday I posted a reel.
What I didn't know was that Instagram had automatically shared it to Facebook too.
A few minutes later, my mom called.
I thought she was calling because she'd watched my reel.
Instead she said,
“I couldn’t understand what you were saying.”
So I explained my own reel to her.
Over a phone call.
That made me wonder…
We're teaching machines to create videos.
Edit videos.
Translate videos.
Dub videos.
But who’s helping people understand them?
Imagine this.
You're watching a reel.
You don't understand something.
Instead of calling someone…
You simply ask,
“What are they talking about?”
“What is this person talking about?”
ಅವರು ಉಳಿತಾಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ — every month, a small amount.
The video pauses.
You ask.
It answers.
In your language.
Then the video continues.
Not translation.
Understanding.
Translation tells you the words.
Understanding tells you the meaning.

Understanding
Investing a fixed amount every month.
Every day,
millions of people watch content they don't fully understand.
Not because they aren't smart.
Because nobody built the internet for them.
Imagine if every video could answer questions.
“What does that mean?”
“Can you explain that again?”
“What are they talking about?”
Instead of translating…
it explains.
Did this remind you of someone?
Maybe your mom.
Maybe your dad.
Maybe your grandparents.
If it did…
I’d love to share where this journey goes.
Day 0.
